Do pedestrians have the same rights as drivers?

Because they’re using different modes of transportation, drivers and pedestrians may not explicitly share the same rights. Legally, pedestrians are offered protections that drivers are not. However, both pedestrians and drivers are entitled to safety according to traffic laws. Sadly, many drivers fail to acknowledge pedestrians, leading to serious car accidents and physical injuries. Pedestrians injured by a reckless or negligent driver are often eligible to take legal action against the responsible driver.
