Lawrence two-vehicle collision kills one

An accident involving a motorcycle, two pedestrians, and a car on Route 114 near the North Andover line in Lawrence on Thursday, September 22 at around 12:30 a.m. resulted in the death of one person and injured two others.

According to preliminary investigations, 64-year-old Methuen resident William Bickford had been driving a motorcycle along Route 114 when he was hit by a car, causing him to crash into two pedestrians who were walking along a nearby sidewalk.

Bickford was declared dead at the scene of the accident while the two pedestrians, a man and a woman in their 20s, were transported to area hospitals to receive medical attention for their non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car that caused the accident did not stop to help the victims and left the scene of the accident as it happened.

Police officials are currently conducting investigations to find out the car and the identity of its driver.
