Crowe & Mulvey LLP is proud to announce that founding partner Elizabeth Mulvey has been selected as a Regent of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. The ACTL numbers more than 5,700 Fellows from across the United States and Canada. Membership can never exceed 1% of the number of lawyers in each state or province. The fifteen Regents of the College participate in important decisions regarding the management of the organization, including the election of new members to Fellowship.
Mulvey, who was elected to Fellowship in 1999, the first year in which she was eligible, replaces former Regent William Kayatta, who was appointed to the First Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this year. She is currently serving the remainder of Judge Kayatta’s term, which will expire later this month, and will then serve a new four-year term. As Regent, she will be responsible for Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Rhode Island, as well as Puerto Rico and the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. She will also serve as liaison to two important general committees of the College, the Emil Gumpert Award Committee and the Jury Committee.
Mulvey has previously held various leadership positions in the College, including chair of the Massachusetts State Committee, chair of the Committee on Outreach, and chair of the Jury Committee. She regularly attends both local and national meetings of the organization, and will travel to San Francisco later this month to attend her first meeting as Regent.
